JKBOSE directs home-based evaluation of pending answer scripts of classes X, XII

The Jammu andKashmir Board of School Education (BOSE) has ordered home based evaluation ofthe left out answer scripts of class 10th and 12th in summer zones, instead ofroutine table evaluation, as one time exception, in view of Covid-19 lockdown.

The order in thisregard has been issued by Secretary JK Board of School Education (BOSE).

   

As per the order, thetable evaluation of class 10th to 12th annual regular, summer zone startedw.e.f February 29 and March 01 respectively. However, it was suspended due tothe complete lockdown imposed due to COVID-19 pandemic.

“The home basedevaluation will be allowed after adopting adequate mechanism to ensure thesafety, security and confidentiality of the answer sheets for which the jointsecretary secrecy shall work out all required modalities,” reads the order.

A meeting in thisregard was convened last week by JKBOSE wherein it was decided that allowingmore than hundred evaluators to attend evaluation centres at BOSE Campus RehariColony Jammu was not advisable amid the prevailing situation.

“It is also notpossible to resume the table evaluation process in the normal course and thereis a strong perception that the delayed results may lead to chaotic situationand cause disturbance in the academic calendar,” the order reads, adding thatthe consensus emerged in the meeting to go for home evaluation to tide over thesituation and ensure the completion of evaluation process without any delay.

As per the order,the head examiners and checking assistants will work from board campus as pertable evaluation norms.

“The proportionatemarks in the practical examination of class 10th 2020/annual regular summerzone shall be awarded to the examinees corresponding to the marks scored bythem in the science theory subject,” the order reads.

It further readsthat appropriate decision about the non-conduct of examination in some theorypapers of class 12th annual-regular 2020 in summer zone, Jammu shall be takenafter the completion of evaluation of all those papers which have already beenconducted and reviewing the situation at that time.

“However all othernorms of evaluation as envisaged in the relevant regulations shall beapplicable,” it reads.
