Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Yasin Malik was arrested on Sunday while he was returning home from south Kashmir.

A spokesman said Malik "has been once again arrested by police when he was returning home from south Kashmir where he had gone to expresses condolences to some bereaved families."

"Yasin sahib along with vice chairman Mushtaq Ajmal and zonal organizer Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri have been lodged at police station Sangam now," said the spokesman.

Malik was released yesterday after 10 days of incarceration. "JKLF strongly condemns this arrest," he said.

Earlier, JKLF chairman visited Malaknagh Annatnag where he expressed condolences to Sofi family on the demise of their father Ghulam Muhammad Sofi.

The spokesperson said the deceased was the father of senior Hurriyat Leader Mukhtar Ahmad Sofi.

“Yasin sahib met with the members of his bereaved family and prayed for his heavenly abode. He also prayed for the sabr-I-Jamil to his bereaved family. It is worth to mention that Yasin sahib and delegation had left Srinagar early in the morning,” he said.
