On this day Kashmiris all across the world will remember their hero with honour and pride. Maqbool Bhat was hanged in Tihar Jail on February 11, 1984, and his body wasn’t given to Kashmiris for burial

Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has announced commemoration of the 31st anniversary of its founder, Muhammad Maqbool Bhat, all around the world on February 11.

“February 11 is being observed as Maqbool Bhat’s martyrdom anniversary. On this day Kashmiris all across the world will remember their hero with honour and pride. Maqbool Bhat was hanged in Tihar Jail on February 11, 1984, and his body wasn’t given to Kashmiris for burial,” said a spokesman of the Front in a statement.

“JKLF will hold seminars, public meetings and demonstrations in Kashmir, in all cities of Pakistan administered Kashmir, Gilgit, important cities of Pakistan, Europe, Middle East and America.  JKLF supreme head Amanullah Khan and chairman Yasin Malik have directed all zonal, divisional and district level JKLF office bearers to hold peaceful programmes in order to pay tributes to the martyred leader,” said the spokesman.

“JKLF London Branch, at a meeting held today in connection with February 11 preparations, announced that its leaders and activists will participate in a protest outside Indian High Commission in London and also hold public meetings across the city,” he said.

“We owe it to the future generations of Kashmir to highlight and spread the vision of Shaheed Maqbool Bhat for which he and thousands of other Kashmiris laid their lives,” the spokesman said.
