JKLF(R) regrets world silence over civilian killings

Greater Kashmir

Srinagar, June 4: The J&K Liberation Front chairman, Farooq Ahmad Dar and senior vice-chairman, Javid Ahmad Mir regretted, what they called, silence maintained by the international community over the killings of civilians in fake encounters and enforced disappearances by the armed forces in Kashmir.
Addressing public after Friday prayers at Noor Bagh here, the Front leaders said. “It is unfortunate that the community did not break its silence despite the discovery of mass graves and incidents of rights abuses like killing of three Nadihal youth in Machil fake encounters by the armed forces,” they said.
Commenting on the statements of PM, Dr Manmohan Singh and CM, Omar Abdullah about the talks with militants, they said before going for dialogue with anyone, India should release detainees, revoke draconian laws and start demilitarization in J&K.
