Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement leader Feroze Peerzada has expressed serious concern over the dilapidated condition of heritage Zainageer canal and has criticized the concerned authorities for its total neglect.
In a statement here Peerzada said that “the historic canalwas constructed by the most popular king of Kashmir Zain-ul-Abidin Budshah toprovide irrigation and drinking water facilities to the people residing in andaround the Sopore town. Today this vital water body is in pathetic condition.”
He assured people that JKPM will take up the matter ofreconstruction and up gradation of the iconic Zainageer Kanal with higherauthorities.
