Sajad Ahmad Wani, 30, a KAS officer from Nowhar area of Charar I Sharief, has started a popular YouTube channel where he frequently uploads video lessons on various subjects which are useful for aspirants of competitive examinations.
Wani, a 2012 batch KAS officer, is currently working as treasury officer in district administrative office Budgam and also heads the District Rural Development Agencies (DRDA).
Wani started his YouTube channel named ‘Genesis academy by Dr. Sajad Wani’ in February this year. Managed solely by him, the channel has attracted more than 5000 subscribers so far.
“So far I have upload 55 video lessons on various topics which can help students prepare for various competitive exams,” said Wani who uploads about two video lessons every day on a chosen topic.
“I have given free classes to KAS aspirants here in Charar for three years after clearing KAS in 2012,” he said. “I would give lectures after 4pm.”
Initially Wani would upload videos on finance subject which generated good response online. Then he expanded by uploading video lessons on Indian polity, geography and J&K polity. “I’m getting good response from the aspirants who want me to upload more videos on other topics relevant to the competitive exams,” he said adding that the only purpose behind starting the YouTube channel was to help students prepare for all competitive examinations conducted by UPSC, JKPSC and JKSSB. “I am planning to upload more video lessons on economy, current affairs, science and technology,” he said. “I believe if you have knowledge, you should share it with others.”
