Kashmir shuts against civilian killings

A complete shutdown is being observed in Kashmir on Fridayagainst the recent civilian killings.

JRL – an amalgam of separatist leadership – had calledshutdown in Kashmir against the killings.

   

All the business establishments and the schools remainedshut while the public transport is also off the roads in Srinagar city andelsewhere.

Authorities have also put restrictions in parts of Downtownand closed down the historic Jamia Masjid as well to thwart any protests in thearea.

Heavy deployment of the security forces has also been madeat all the sensitive points to prevent any law and order problem.

Similar reports of a complete shutdown were received fromother district headquarters as well.

JRL comprising of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq andMuhammad Yasin Malik had said that people will observe shutdown to protest theunfortunate killings. JRL also said that Imams and khateebs in Friday sermonswill also raise their voice against the bloodshed.
