Hurriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Friday said a mass agitation would be launched “forthwith” in case of an “adverse” ruling from the Supreme Court.
Addressing the Friday congregation at historic Jama Masjid, Mirwaiz said that if any adverse decision comes from the Supreme Court of India on August 27, a mass agitation will be launched forthwith.
He said that people of Jammu and Kashmir were mentally and physically ready to hit the streets in such a case.
“…people and leadership are geared up to protest and defend it at every cost as it is a matter of our very existence.”
“Mobilisation at all levels, including at the grassroots level of Masjid and Mohalla Committees, needs to be undertaken to launch a mass agitation with full force which is being done,” said the Mirwaiz.
He said every person has to play his role and be ready to defend their “very existence.”
