KU postpones all exams scheduled from April 1

Kashmir University (KU) has postponed all exams scheduled from April 1 in view of the coronavirus outbreak and the 21-day lockdown across the country.

“All UG, PG and professional courses already scheduled fromApril 1 are hereby postponed. Fresh dates will be notified separately,” reads anotice issued by the controller examination.

   

It reads the examination dates for 5th semester (regularbatch 2017 and backlog batch 2016), second semester (regular batch 2019 andbacklog batches 2018, 2017 and 2016) and first semester (regular batch 2020 andbacklog batches 2018, 2017 and 2016) shall be notified after reopening of theUniversity.

Meanwhile, the varsity was likely to face delay incompletion of admission process to different post graduation courses.

The notification for the admission to fill the forms wasissued in first week of March. The KU had decided to start the classes of PGfirst semester students in April.

“But we had to put all the process on hold in view of theprevailing situation,” Registrar KU, Dr Nisar Ahmad Mir said.

About clubbing of semester system of exams at college level,he said the decision will be taken after considering the UGC guidelines.
