KU’s Linguistics deptt holds maiden alumni meet

The department of Linguistics, University of Kashmir (KU), Friday organized its maiden alumni meet, here inside the Auditorium Hall of the Humanities Block.

The meet was attended by around 200 alumni, includingfaculty, research scholars and students.

   

Vice Chancellor KU, Prof Talat Ahmad, was the chief guest onthe occasion, while as Dr Nisar Ahmad, Registrar KU, was the guest of honour.

The VC, in his address, congratulated the department ofLinguistics for organizing its maiden alumni meet and stressed on creatingalumni directories, and alumni associations.

The Registrar, while speaking on the occasion, alsocongratulated the department and highlighted the importance of holding alumnimeets on a regular basis.

Prof Aejaz Mohammed Sheikh, Head of the department ofLinguistics, presented the welcome address and spoke about the achievements ofthe department.

An entertainment session was also held, wherein the studentspresented a skit and a cultural program.
