Laigaroo flays govt decision to reopen schools

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) youth Secretary Arif Laigaroo on Tuesday expressed concern over the decision of J&K administration to partially reopen of schools amid COVID19 pandemic.

In a statement, Laigaroo termed the decision of making voluntary attendance in schools a major concern. He said during the past few weeks J&K has been witnessing spike both in deaths due to COVID19 and new cases of infection.

The PDP leader said the government must roll back the decision or else take responsibility if a student gets infected with COVID19.

He also demanded mass promotion to students. “Students have been at the receiving end, so the government should chalk out a policy for them,” Laigroo said.
