Late Mirwaiz made earnest efforts to forge unity among Muslim: Farooq Abdullah

Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (NC) president Dr Farooq Abdullah on Monday paid glowing tributes to late Moulana Mirwaiz Muhammad Farooq on his 29th death anniversary.

In his message Dr Farooq said, “Late Mirwaiz was known forhis literary endowments and social service. The traditional role played byMirwaiz family in the field of education and social service is commendable. LateMirwaiz throughout his life made earnest efforts to forge unity among MuslimUmmah. He throughout his life devotedly rendered his services for up gradationof Islamia school. On this day I pay glowing tributes to him.”

   

Other NC leaders including Ali Muhammad Sagar, Abdul RahimRather, Choudhary Muhammad Ramzan, Sharief Ud Din Shariq, Mubarak Gul and PeerAfaq, also paid glowing tributes to late Mirwaiz Muhammad Farooq on his deathanniversary.

MEHBOOBA MUFTI 

People’s Democratic Party (PDP)  president Mehbooba Mufti also paid richtributes to late Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq and late Abdul Gani Lone ontheir anniversaries.

In a statement, Mehbooba said that the contribution made by the two leaders in thesocio-political awakening of people would long be remembered in Jammu &Kashmir. “Best tribute to these two leaders would be that the people of thestate commit themselves to working for social upliftment of the downtroddenedand working tirelessly  towards gettingthe people of the state out of uncertainty,’ she added.

General secretary of the Peoples Conference Imran RezaAnsari , while paying rich tributes to late Mirwaiz Muhammad Farooq and lateAbdul Gani Lone, in a statement said, “Late Abdul Gani Lone and late MirwaizMuhammad Farooq  laid their lives forKashmir. It is time we remember their vision and far sightedness for theKashmiri people. They remind us of a golden era of politics where moderatepolitics and intellectualism were the defining attributes of leadership.”

Imran said that both leaders were victims of violenceprevalent in the state for the last three decades. “We also want the people toremember that scourge of violence consumed late Lone sahib and Mirwaiz Sahib.We pray and hope that this violence comes to an end”, he added. People’sConference spokesman said that PC chairman Sajad Gani Lone, senior vicepresident Abdul Gani Vakil, Bashir Ahmad Dar, Raja Aijaz Ali, Muhammad AbbasWani, Irfan Panditpori, Adnan Ashraf Mir and others also paid glowing tributesto the late leaders.

Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement (JKPM) chief Shah Faesalalso paid rich tributes to late Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq and Abdul GaniLone on their death anniversary

While paying glowing tribute to late Mirwaiz Moulvi Farooq ShahFaesal remembered his contribution to the Kashmiri’s struggle for theirsocio-political rights.

He said late Moulvi Farooq was not only the religious leaderof Kashmiri people but represented their political aspirations as well addingthat till his death, he vouched for resolution of Jammu and Kashmir dispute inaccordance to the wishes and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Shah Faesal said that late Abdul Ghani Lone was a greatvisionary whose main contribution was that he mentored a cadre of new leaderswho continue to guide the State even today.
