The department of Physics AAAM College Bemina, Cluster University Srinagar organized a Lecture on “Introduction to Nanotechnology and Nano-science” by Dr Ahsan-ul Haq Qureshi, Associate professor in the center of excellence in Nano technology (CENT) and Chemistry, King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals, Dharan Saudi Arabia.
Dr Ahsan-ul Haq gave introduction to Nanotechnology andhistory of research in Nanomaterials. He explained changes of physical andchemical properties at nanoscale. He also explained their applications in thefields of cosmetics, space technologies, diagnostics and therapeutic practices,especially treating cancer, gene therapy and in vitro diagnostics. He alsodiscussed how nanoscale material has made a difference in various areas ofengineering and technology such as energy, environmental pollution control,automobile and electronics. The entire session was quite interactive andstudents got ample time to get their queries answered. Dr Ahsan-ul Haq has beendoing a commendable research work in the field of nanotechnology and published85 research papers in top peer reviewed international journals of repute. Hehas attended various conferences indifferent parts of the world and presented papers and talks on thesubject.
The event was organized and conducted by Dr Muhamad AminMalik, Head Deptt of Physics and vote of thanks was presented by Dr Rafiq AhmadKhan (Physics).
