Residents of Tangnar area of Raiyar in Khansahib tehsil are up in arms against wildlife department for failing to protect them from a wild leopard, who is roaming in the area for a week.
A delegation from the area said that despite informationabout the leopard, the wildlife department has failed to check the movement orprotect them.
“We have formed village committee who keep alert duringthe night as the wild leopard is on prowl. The Leopard has killed scores ofanimals in the area and it is due to our alertness that no civilian causalityhas taken place,” Ghulam Hassan Deenda, a resident said.
Urging the officials of wildlife department to protect them,the delegation is seeking attention of governor administration to this remotearea in Khansahib tehsil of Budgam district.
