The Special Operations Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested a Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militant in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

Mubarak Ahmad Dar son of Abdul Rahim Dar was arrested during a raid in Chahlan village of the district, reported news agency GNS.

Dar, a resident of Redwani Balla, was said to be missing from October last year.

Quoting a police officer, the report said the raid was conducted at the village by the sleuths of SOG and during searches the suspected person was apprehended.

The officer claimed that Dar was a C-category militant who was active since October and was affiliated with Lashkar-e-Toiba outfit. “A case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigations have been initiated,” he added.
