LeT recruit arrested in Awantipora: Police

Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday claimed to have arrested a recruit of Laishker-e-Toiba militant outfit from Konibal crossing in Awantipora area of south Kashmir.

According to police statement, Awantipora Police along with 50 RR and 185 CRPF have arrested 01 recently joined Militants identified as Faisal Ahmad Dar resident of Khankah Bagh, Pampore affiliated with Laishker-e-Toiba in Pampore area near Konibal crossing.

Police said militant went missing from 11th September to join the militant ranks of Laishker-e-Toiba and was active in Anantnag, Awantipora and Pampore area.

Statement further said, they said arrested militant has uploaded his audio on social media on September 13, wherein the said militant has claimed to have joined militant ranks and requesting his parents not to look for search for him as he has joined militant ranks. Incriminating material of proscribed outfit Laishker-e-Toiba has been recovered from the said militant, police said. A case FIR number 79/2020 under relevant section of Law stands registered at Police Station Pampore.
