LG reviews development scenario

The Lieutenant Governor (LG), Manoj Sinha on Saturday said atmosphere of change was visible in J&K and everyone should be the part of new progressive Union Territory.

He said that the administration was committed to providing people-centric good governance. The LG made the remarks while inaugurating Women’s cricket tournament at Degree College Khanabal.

   

Addressing the audience, the LG said government was giving impetus to sports and launching initiatives in education and skill development sectors to help the youth channelize their energies in constructive activities and development of the region.

He said the government was focussing on education, industry, tourism, and sports besides enhancing social infrastructure.

To bring about changes in J&K, the LG said the government was going to announce new Industrial Policy soon, under which an entirely new regime of positivity and development will prevail.

The LG also visited holy Mattan Temple and Gurudwara where he paid obeisance and prayed for peace, progress, and prosperity in J&K.

While chairing a meeting of officers, the LG took a review of the overall developmental scenario and public welfare activities in the district. The LG e-inaugurated and laid foundation stones of developmental projects worth Rs.92.23 crore. Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag, briefed the LG about the governance and public delivery system.

The LG also interacted with delegations including Presidents of Urban Local Bodies, BDC Chairpersons, deputation of Panchs, Sarpanchs and representatives of various political parties.

The LG gave a patient hearing to all the delegations and assured that the government was serious about resolving all the issues in a time-bound manner.
