Local boy launches Android-based internet radio

A local boy from Baghat Barzullah here, Tariq Bhat (26), who heads the FM said the objective behind this application was to inform people about Kashmir''s culture and heritage.

 In an effort to promote the culture of Kashmir in every corner of the world, a local boy has launched first android-based internet radio here. The ‘City FM JK’, can be tuned into anywhere on android-based mobile phones across the world.

A local boy from Baghat Barzullah here, Tariq Bhat (26), who heads the FM said the objective behind this application was to inform people about Kashmir’s culture and heritage.

"Our objective is not only to entertain people, but also to inform them about Kashmir. It is very beneficial for Kashmir. It is  first such concept in Kashmir. We believe that we have been successful in launching this," said Bhat.

He informed that City FM JK will be available on phones having android-based operating systems. “One can also download the application from play store or simply can find downloading link from Google by searching it with some key words,” he added.

Bhat said the FM channel would play music of all genres and will place emphasis on Sufi songs, ghazals and songs in Hindi, Urdu and English. "Nowadays, everybody has android phones. One can download android application and can listen to our FM radio. Our main focus is on entertainment because it is worldwide. We will play Urdu and Kashmiri programmes," said added.
