Lockdown: 27 persons held for defying orders

At least 27 persons were arrested from different twin districts of Kupwara and Ganderbal for allegedly violating prohibitory orders imposed to contain the spread of coronavirus amid the nationwide lockdown, police said.

In Kupwara, police arrested 24 people and seized two vehiclesfor defying the prohibitory orders, a police spokesman said.

   

Similarly, in Ganderbal, three persons were arrested forviolation of lockdown orders, the spokesman said.Hesaid cases have been registered against all of them. Police have appealed to thepublic to follow the restrictions imposed by the government to prevent thespread of COVID19 and warned of dealing strictly with those violating therestrictions.
