Lone expresses grief over Rafiabad fire incident

National Conference (NC) Member of Parliament Muhammad Akbar Lone Monday expressed anguish over blaze in Watergam area of Rafiabad that engulfed 20 shops on Sunday night.

A statement of NC issued here quoted Lone while expressing grief over the losses incurred by the traders as saying that the first floor of the complex had suffered extensive damage while the ground floor of the complex was partially damaged.

   

“Most of the shops have no insurance cover. The losses incurred by the traders are immense, making it imperative for the administration to step in.  It is not just the infrastructure that has been damaged, the merchandise worth crores of rupees also got ruined in the unfortunate incident. I express my unison with the affected traders in their difficult time. I hope and pray for their early revival,” he said.

Lone impressed upon the administration to award due compensation to the affected following early assessment of the losses incurred by them without delay.

The statement said that NC’s District President BaramullaJaved Dar also urged the administration to provide succour to the affected traders.

He also extended sympathies to the affected and prayed for the early revival of their business.
