LS polls: BJP seeks disqualification of Akbar Lone for raising ‘pro-Pak’ slogans

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday sought the disqualificationof National Conference candidate for Baramulla Lok Sabha seat for allegedlyraising pro-Pakistan slogans.

“It is to bring to your kind notice that National ConferenceCandidate from Baramulla parliamentary constituency Muhammad Akbar Lone throughhis speech resorted to ultimate disrespect to the country by raising proPakistan slogan— “Pakistan zindabad” which has hurt the sentimentsof people of not only Jammu and Kashmir but also the people of entire India,”read the BJP letter to chief electoral officer (CEO), Jammu and Kashmir.

   

Through the letter, BJP spokesman Altaf Thakur requested theCEO to take serious note of Lone’s speech.

He said the videos of the speech were available on socialmedia.
