An army Major died on Sunday when he was grievously injured on Saturday night after slipping into a deep gorge during patrolling in upper reaches of Kumkadi forests of Kalaroos area in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
“The officer Vikash Singh, 30, of 57RR A-Coy was immediatelytaken to Military hospital Drugmulla for medical attention from where he wasshifted to Srinagar Badami Bagh hospital for further treatment where hesuccumbed to his injuries,” Army Spokesperson Rajesh Kalia said. Earlier thismonth, an Army soldier Satvir Singh was killed after being buried under anavalanche near LoC in Kupwara district.
