Major General Kapoor visits ‘Special National Integration Camp’ in Leh

Major General Arvind Kapoor, Chief of Staff Fire & Fury Corps, visited the “Special National Integration Camp” being conducted at Leh under the aegis of Fire & Fury Corps as a part of celebrating 20 years of Kargil victory, an Army spokesman said in a statement.

He said that the Chief of Staff was received by CommanderNCC Gp HQs Srinagar, Brig R G Patil and other officers of NCC GroupSrinagar.  Nearly 300 NCC cadets and 20associate NCC Officers representing all states and union territories areparticipating in this unique national integration camp.

   

The General Officer while addressing the cadets emphasizedthe need to conduct such camps for maintaining communal harmony and brotherhoodand strengthening national integration, describing these as per-requisites forthe country’s growth and stability.

He lauded the significant contribution being made by the NCCin grooming the youth of our country. The General Officer observed that thestrength of NCC has grown over the years, but considering the strength of youthparticularly in J&K, more boys and girls needed to be brought under theambit of the organization. He expressed happiness that the Air wing and a NCCBn were being proposed to be raised in Srinagar, Kupwara and Udhampurrespectively, which would provide new openings to the youth of the State.
