A man died after he fell from a mountain in remote area of Gurez in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Thursday.
Sources said that some persons had gone to nearby jungle at Check Nallah in Gurez to collect medicinal forest plants (MFPs).
“While collecting the MFPs one Nazir Ahmad Mapnoo (28) son of Bashir Ahmad Mapnoo of Wanpora, Gurez slipped from the mountain and died, ” they said.
A police official said the body of the deceased was recovered near Check Nallaj and was taken to CHC Dawar where he was declared brought dead.
The official said the body has been handed over to his family after all medico-legal formalities.
