Manoj Dwivedi discusses developmental activities in Budgam district

Commissioner Secretary Forest and Information Manoj Kumar Dwivedi, who is also In-charge Secretary for Budgam district for monitoring the developmental works, today chaired a meeting to take overall review of the progress of developmental activities being initiated in the district.

The meeting was attended by CCF Kashmir Farooq AhmadGeelani, Director Information Gulzar Ahmad, Conservator Forests SrinagarCircle, Zubair Ahmad Shah, ADC Budgam Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani, SE, Hydraulics GABeigh, SE PMGSY, JD Planing, Rafiq Ahmad, ACR, all SDMs, otherdistrict/sectoral officers and officials of concerned departments of districtBudgam.

   

At the outset, DDC Budgam, Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar presentedthe overall status of developmental projects, implementation of state andcentrally sponsored schemes, child and women-oriented programmes, scenario ofHealth, Education, PDD, PHE and projects taken by various departments.

During the meeting, Manoj Dwivedi stressed for conductingteacher training sessions to improve quality of education besides resolution ofpending salary and regularization issues of teachers at an earliest.

While giving out details, Education department revealed thatthe retention rate of children is above 88 percent in the district, three teamshave been constituted to ensure that quality water is supplied to all theschools. The In-charge Secretary was further apprised that skill developmentprogrammes have been started at 16 Higher Secondary Schools in the district

Giving details about the Health sector, the Secretary wasinformed that from the targeted figure of 70051 beneficiaries, 52424 have beenregistered under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.

Under Social Welfare schemes, it was informed that 167 caseshave been sanctioned under State Marriage Assistance Scheme. He stressed forthe adoption of a camp approach rather than office approach for better results.Manoj Dwivedi directed for wide publicity of successful stories under NRLM inKhansahab.

It was revealed that District Budgam was not onlyself-sufficient in vegetable production but has become the only district whichexports vegetable to other district and states. Highlighting the achievement,CAO said that 800 kanals of brick kiln land was retrieved in the past few yearswhich is used for agricultural purposes in the district. He also informed that74010 farmers have been registered under PM-Kisan scheme and Rs 19.20 crore hasbeen provided as the first and second installment to them under the scheme.

Manoj Dwivedi vouched for foolproof district disastermanagement and preparedness plan for the Budgam. In this regard, he instructedthe concerned to register more volunteers and directed for conducting regulartraining programmes for them.The meeting was informed that under PMGSY, 174kilometers of road stretch will be macadamized by the end of September 2019 inthe district. It was told that 70100 un-electrified households were electrifiedin the district. The In-charge Secretary directed on the erection of new HTpoles at all required places on war footing to prevent the occurrence of fatalaccidents.
