Masarat Alam produced before court, shifted back to Kote Bhalwal Jail

The incarcerated chairman of Muslim League Jammu and Kashmir Masarat Aalam Bhat, who was brought here from Kote Bhalwal Jail, was produced before Additional District and Session Judge here where after hearing the arguments the judge fixed the next hearing of the case on June 2, 2018.

“Masarat was brought here on Wednesday in connection with the hearing of a case registered against him in Police Station, Nowhatta,” the League spokesman Sajjad Ayobi, in a statement, said, adding that “After hearing, Masrat was taken back to Kotbalwal Jail Jammu on the same day.”

“The central and state governments set new policies and methods to prolong the detention of Masarat Alam under baseless cases, which is worst kind of human rights violation and is highly condemnable,” he said, appealing to the rights-defender bodies including the Red Cross and Human Rights Watch to take the note of the ‘worst political revenge’ against Masrat Aalam’ and play their role.
