National Conference senior leader Choudhary Muhammad Ramzan Thursday welcomed the move of upgrading District Hospital Handwara to medical college, saying the move will give impetus to development of Kupwara district.
“It has been a long pending demand of the people of Handwara to have a medical college in their area. Now that the demand has been addressed, I on behalf of the people of Handwara thank the Governor’s administration and the Medical Council of India,” Ramzan said in a statement.
He also urged the administration to come up with a girls’ college in the area. “The need of the hour also requires for the establishment of degree colleges at Magam and Zachaldara,” he said.
