BJP’s Parliamentary candidate for Srinagar constituency, Khalid Jehangir, on Saturday lashed out Peoples Democratic Party chief, Mehbooba Mufti, for what he called “misleading” the common masses.
In a statement here Jehangir said that Mehbooba is telling”blatant lies” by claiming that she was unaware about Hizbul-Mujahideencommander Burhan Wani being caught in an encounter in which he was killed. “Itseems that she has forgotten that when Burhan Wani was killed, she was ChiefMinister of Jammu and Kashmir and head of the Unified Command,” he added.
The BJP leader said that the much hyped “Agenda of Alliance”was nothing as none of the leaders from either BJP or the PDP had signedit. “Let Mehbooba tell people who had signed theAoA? When PDP entered into an alliance with BJP in 2015 it staged dramas tohoodwink the people. The BJP had joined hands with the PDP on only one agendathat was development and nothing else,” he added. Jehangir said that PDP leaders after cominginto power used to give one statement in New Delhi and another in Kashmir. “BJPled government at the Centre went out of way to support the PDP. The Governmentof India provided all the support to the PDP but the party (PDP) opted to playpolitics and did not concentrate on the development,” he added. Jehangir saidthat “BJP would continue to follow Vajpayee’s line of Insaniyat, Jamhooriyatand Kashmiriyat. Our party only believes in politics of development and notdeceit. Mehbooba should stop misleading people and tell people the truth.People are fed up of lies and propaganda.”
