Militant hideout busted in Pinglish Tral

Government forces on Monday claimed to have busted a hideout of militants at Pinglish village of Tral township in Pulwama district.

Forces launched massive search operation at Nagwadi Pinglish after inputs about the presence of few militant hideouts.

An official said that a hideout of Hizbul Mujahideen militant outfit was busted in a joint operation by police, army's 42 Rashtriya Rifles and 180 BN Central Reserve Police Force.

“HM militant hideout was busted which seems to be very old. However, no arms and ammunition was recovered except some utensils, eating commodities and few blankets,” a senior official said.

The official said that based on specific inputs, militant hideout was busted in the area. “Forces are investigating the role of overground workers who were helping the militants to stock up on food and other essentials,” a police officer said.
