Militant killed in ongoing gunfight at native village of Zakir Musa’s deputy in Tral

A militant was killed in an ongoing gunfight in Arampora village of Tral township in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday.

Reports said that a joint party of the army, CRPF and SOG of Jammu and Kashmir Police cordoned off Arampora on Saturday morning after a tip- off about the presence of militants.

   

As the forces approached the suspected spot, the militants opened fire, leading to a gunfight.

“So far one body was recovered from the gunfight site. He looks like a foreigner,” SP Awantipora Mohammad Zahid Malik told Greater Kashmir.

The authorities have snapped mobile Internet service in the area.

Arampora is the native village of Ansar Ghazwat ul Hind chief Zakir Musa’s deputy Sauleh Mohammad alias Rehan.
