Suspected militants attacked a patrolling party of CRPF here on Sunday. However there was no report of any damage. According to a police official, two to three militants riding a bike fired upon the CRPF party in Bon Bazaar Shopian in the morning. The paramilitary forces fired several rounds in retaliation, he said.
However the militants escaped from the spot, the official said, adding there was damage reported. Soon after the attack, army, police and CRPF personnel reached the spot and cordoned off the area. However, no one was arrested when last reports came in.
