Militants on Saturday evening attacked District Police Lines in Shopian area of south Kashmir.
A police official said that militants fired several shots towards the main gate of District Police Lines Shopian in Digam area on the outskirts of town around 6:50 PM.
The police men manning the gate, according to the official, returned the fire, forcing the militants to flee from the spot.
The official, however, said that no casualties were reported from the either side.
This is the second militant attack in the town in past 24 hours. Last evening, militants attacked a police camp stationed at Gagran area of town.
