A top commander of the Jaish-e-Muhammad was among the threemilitants slain in a gunfight with the security forces in southern Pulwamadistrict, officials said.
Three militants, army soldier and a civilian were killed ina gunfight in Dalipora area of Pulwama town early Thursday.
An official identified the slain militants as JeM commanderKhalid Bhai (resident of Pakistan), Naseer Ahmad Pandith of Kareemabad Pulwamaand Umar Ahmad Mir of Bhartipora Shopian.
The slain soldier was identified as Sandeep Kumar of 55Rwhile the slain civilian was identified as Rayees Ahmad Dar S/o Jalal-u-DinDar.
His brother, Mohd Younis Dar, who was also injured duringthe gunfight was shifted to a hospital in Srinagar for treatment.
“Three army soldiersinjured during the gunfight were evacuated to 92 Base hospital in Srinagar,”said the official.
