Gunfight breaks out in south Kashmir’s Anantnag

Gunfight broke out between the militants and the security forces on Tuesday at a village in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, police said.

In a tweet, police said that an exchange of fire took placewhile the area was being cordoned off.

   

An official said the firing exchange took place in Wubzanvillage of the district.

Meanwhile, news agency GNS, while quoting sources, reportedthat two to three militants are believed to be trapped in the area.

It said the gunfight broke out after the joint teams of thepolice and the army launched a cordon-and-search-operation in the area.
