MIM denounces attacks on Kashmiris

Majlis Ittehad-e-Millat Jammu and Kashmir comprising  Jama’at-e-Islami,  Jamiat Ahl-e-Hadees, Tableeg-ul-Islam, Anjuman-e-Share Shian, Himayat-ul-Islam, Islamic study circle, Dawat-ul-Haq Tral, and others, headed by Mufti Azam Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam, has vehemently denounced the ‘riots’ in Jammu.

In a statement spokesman of MIM said that “these elements with open support from the local civil and police administration resulted in a huge loss to the property including dozens of vehicles which were torched in broad daylight in presence of police.”

The spokesman said that MIM also condemns the attacks on Kashmiri students and traders in various cities in north India by the communalist elements. “In some states Kashmiri students were booked on fake and frivolous allegations and some were suspended without any just cause. It’s unfortunate that Kashmiri drivers were beaten and their vehicles damaged,” he said, “Majlis also demands stringent action against the rioters and the erring policemen, who helped the miscreants. Moreover Majlis supports the joint protest program of the traders, transporters and employees federations and appeals the masses to maintain communal harmony at all costs being the hallmark of the teachings of Islam.”
