Mission 1931 martyrs yet to be accomplished: Yasin Malik

Incarcerated chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik on Friday paid glowing tributes to the martyrs of July 13, 1931, saying, “This is a day when Kashmiri martyrs sacrificed their lives for a sacred cause and that no one can ever forget these sacrifices.”

“The July 13, 1931, teaches us resistances and persistence and we as a nation owe reverence to these martyrs. The present struggle is actually a continuation of the struggle and sacrifices rendered by the martyrs of 1931. Kashmiris fully know that the mission for which martyrs of 1931 sacrificed their lives is not yet accomplished and today when we are recalling theses sacrifices, we pledge to continue our struggle,” a JKLF spokesman quoted Malik as having said  in his message from the Police Station, Kothibagh, where he along with Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leader Umar Adil Dar is lodged since July 6.

The spokesman said, “Police for last many days have not allowed anyone to meet Yasin Sahab in police station, Kothibagh, here  which is highly condemnable.”

Meanwhile, Yasin Malik, according to Front statement, expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise of Ghulam Muhammad Sofi, veteran social figure of district Anantnag and father of senior leader Mukthar Ahmad Sofi.
