National Conference (NC) and Congress Wednesday felicitated people on Ram Navami and prayed for peace and stability.
A statement of NC issued here said that greeting people on the occasion of Ram Navami, NC President Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah expressed hope that the day augers well for the increased prospects of peace and prosperity in the country.
Farooq said the festival was yet another glaring example of the massive and abundant cultural richness of the country, a source of wonder for people across the world.
Omar Abdullah said, “May this auspicious occasion strengthen the bond of brotherhood and communal harmony in J&K and the country in general. I wish people a very Happy Ram Navami, hoping that the day augurs well for everlasting peace and prosperity in the entire region.”
NC leaders Ali Muhammad Sagar, Mustafa Kamal, Nasir Aslam Wani, Devender Singh Rana and other senior leader also greeted people on the occasion of Ram Navami.
Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Ghulam Ahmad Mir also felicitated people on Ram Navami and prayed for peace and stability.
A statement of Congress issued here said that Mir expressed hope that Ram Navami would be the harbinger of prosperity for the people.
