NC expresses concern over plight of students stranded outside J&K

National Conference on Sunday expressed concern over the plight of students which are stranded outside J&K, following the closure of educational institutions across the country.

In a statement, the partyspokesperson Imran Nabi Dar said, “We have been receiving distress calls fromstudents stranded in various Universities across the country who want to comehome but do not have the means to do so. Owing to the closures of educationalinstitutions many students find themselves in limbo.”

   

Imran said most of thestudents do not have resources to return home as railways and other interstatetransport network have suspended operations in wake of the COVID-19.

He asked the governmentneeds to act swiftly to help students who were facing shortage of money andfood.

“Kashmiris studying inHyderabad University have been asked to vacate university premises. They don’thave enough money to come back. There are similar stories emanating from otherparts of the country,” Imran said.

He urged government to come to rescue of these studentsstranded in various Universities and colleges of the country. “Special nodalofficers should be deputed to look after the repatriation of all thesestudents,” Imran said.
