National Conference (NC) President Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah Tuesday expressed shock and grief over the death of noted Islamic scholar Manzoor Ahmed Kirmani, who died in a road accident in Kathua.
A statement of NC issued here said that the duo prayed for the peace to the departed and much needed fortitude to the bereaved on their inconsolable loss.
They said that the passing away of Kirmani, an erudite personality of Handwara, had created a void in the socio-religious and literary circles of the region.
They said that the deceased would be remembered for his services in the field of religion.
“We also express our union with them in this difficult time and pray to Almighty Allah to bestow highest echelons to the deceased in Jannat,” they said.
Meanwhile, senior NC leaders also participated in the Namaz-e-Janaza of the deceased.
