A number of “prominent” and senior political workers of NC and PDP from Srinagar and Budgam districts joined Peoples Conference today in presence of PC Chief Spokesperson and Mayor Srinagar JunaidAzimMattoo, a statement said.
“A number of seniorworkers from NC and PDP pledged their allegiance to the Peoples Conference,expressing their commitment to strengthen the party at the grassroots. The newentrants are committed to work with utmost honesty, diligence and passion tobring about a change in the political system of our state,” PC spokespersonsaid in a statement.
“They expressed full faith in PC leadership to address theconcerns of the people irrespective of their party affiliation, region orreligion in order to take the state towards peace, progress and development”,he said.
Those who joined the party included former NC HalqaPresident Khonmoh, Haji Abdul Qayoom and former PDP Halqa PresidentKhonmohJenab Abdul Rashid Takya, Corporator Khan Sahib Tanveer, CounsellorMohammad Iqbal Shah, TanveerGul, Bashir Ahmad Najar, AtiqaBano and ParveenaBanoamong others.
District President BudgamFirdousFarash and senior leaderShahid Rashid were also present on the occasion.
