NC sold self respect for the sake of power: Vakil

Peoples Conference senior vice president Abdul Gani Vakil on Sunday slammed National Conference leadership for what he called their “deceitful politics.”

Addressing series ofpublic meeting at Janbazpora, Binner and Chaklu Vakil  said how can people expect the fulfilment ofpromises from those leaders who have been exploiting sentiments of gulliblepeople for decades together. “If Farooq and Omar Abdullah would not havesurrendered their authority to Delhi, Congress governments could not have daredto hang Muhammad Maqbool Bhat and Afzal Guru.”

Vakil held NC responsible for present uncertainty and said,”National Conference sold its self respect for the sake of power time andagain. Projecting themselves as the sole custodians of states special statusnow will fetch them nothing as people know how at so many occasions Congresshumiliated them. Isn’t it the fact that Congress put Sheikh Muhammad Abdullahbehind bars and then installed him as chief minister and later on withdrewtheir support from NC government also.”

He said, “The leaders who could not save their self respectand self esteem are now projecting themselves as the lone saviours of honor anddignity of the people of Kashmir which is quite strange.”

Vakil appealed people to strengthen Peoples Conferencebecause it is the only party which has the strong leadership to fight theduplicity of NC and PDP leadership. He asked people to defeat these parties inongoing elections. Senior Leader Khurshid Ahmad Khan, Javaid Masoodi and UmarRashid also spoke on the occasion.
