NC stages protest in Ganderbal against Shopian killings

National Conference (NC) workers led by its lawmaker from Ganderbal on Sunday staged a protest outside the NC Office against government for failing to prevent civilian killings. 

Leading the protest against killing of two civilian by Army in Shopian, MLA Ganderbal Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar said that “Central Government should wake up from its deep slumber and look beyond protecting its own inefficient and inept State Government. It should not  waste further time in initiating a comprehensive and open-ended dialogue with Pakistan and the stakeholders in Kashmir, including the leadership of the Hurriyat Conference.” 

   

“There is no alternative to dialogue with Pakistan and stakeholders in Kashmir. Kashmir is an unresolved political issue and has to be dealt with politically,” Ishfaq said. 

“New Delhi’s failure to acknowledge the problem in Kashmir as a political problem will have far reaching, adverse implications on the region in general and the State in particular.State Government has failed on all fronts particularly security protection of life and property of general public,” he added.
