NF welcomes release of Sopori, Tawheedi

Welcoming the release of senior leaders, Khan Sopori and Farooq Tawheedi, from long incarceration, the Jammu Kashmir National Front (NF) today demanded release of all Kashmiri political prisoners, including its chairman, Nayeem Khan who is lodged at Tihar jail since July 2017.

“A delegation of NF leaders today visited residence of Khan Sopori and Farooq Tawheedi and enquired about their health. The leaders praised their steadfastness and resolve in the way of Kashmir struggle,” a NF spokesman said in a statement.

He said, “Imprisonments and incarcerations have yielded nothing. Instead it has complicated the issue. New Delhi must read the writing on wall that Kashmiri leaders, activists and common people cannot be defeated by killings, arrests and other means. So it is high time for Delhi to create an atmosphere of reconciliation by releasing all the Kashmiri political prisoners languishing in the state and outside jails. This only can prove fruitful to resolve the long pending Kashmir dispute.”
