NHM employees protest in Bandipora to press for regularization of services

Scores of National Health Mission (NHM) employees of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Monday took out a protest rally to demand regularization of their services.

The employees while holding placards raised slogans against the government for “failing” to fulfill their demands.

“We have been demanding regularization of services and immediate fulfillment of commitment by the then health minister in January 2018. We have no job security even as we work day and night in different hospitals and health centres across the state,” said Aijaz Ahmad Mir, district president NHM employees association.

He said that the government last year promised them certain social benefits but till date no such demand has been fulfilled, thereby forcing them to hit the roads.

The protesting employees said that they have also been demanding ‘equal work equal pay’ but despite Supreme Court guidelines the government has failed to do so.

They later marched towards the office of the deputy commissioner from SDH Bandipora and submitted a memorandum.
