NIA arrests 2 Tral youth

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested two youth of Tral in Pulwama district for their alleged involvement in Jaish conspiracy case.   

Giving details, NIA spokesman said that in case RC08/2019/NIA/DLI dated 15/3/2019, NIA arrested two FIR named accused Tanveeralias Tanveer Ahmad Ganie, 29, and Bilal Mir, 23, both residents of Tral.

   

The spokesman said that the accused were members ofproscribed militant organisation Jaish-e-Muhammad. “Tanveer and Bilal Mir werebrought from Kot Balwal Jail, Jammu, where they have been detained under PublicSafety Act. They were produced before the NIA special court today against aproduction warrant,” he added.

The NIA court, the spokesman said, granted 7-day custody ofthe accused to the investigating agency.  

He said that investigations have revealed that anotheraccused Sajjad Ahmad, arrested earlier, was in regular contact with the duoover Whatsapp during the relevant period.

The spokesman added that this case pertains to a criminalconspiracy by top leadership of JeM based in Pakistan to strengthen bases ofJeM in India, by recruiting persons for carrying out militancy related acts inIndia.
