NIA books 2 Kashmiri youth in Jalandhar blast

National Investigation Agency on Monday filed charge sheet against two Pulwama youth in a case relating to grenade explosions in Jalandhar on 14 September 2018.

An NIA spokesman said that during investigation, accusedFazil Bashir Pinchoo resident of Ghat Mohalla Awantipora and Shahid Quyoomresident of Kanjinag Awantipora were arrested on 8 November 2018.

   

He said that investigation revealed that on 14 September2018, above accused persons along with Rouf Ahmed Mir resident of Mirpora Mohalla,Dadasara, Tehsil Tral, and Ummer Ramzan alias Gazi resident of Dadasara,Awantipora, carried out the grenade attacks.

Spokesman said while Fazil Bashir Pinchoo and Shahid Quyoomwere studying at St. Soldiers Institute, Jalandhar, Rouf Ahmed Mir and UmmerRamzan had travelled from Awantipora to Jalandhar on 13 September 2018 to takepart in the attack.

He said that three accused Rouf Ahmed Mir, Ummer Ramzan andRasik Ahmed Mir were killed during an encounter with security forces on 22December 2018 at Awantipora.

The charge-sheet, he said, has been filed in the Special NIACourt, Mohali, against Fazil Bashir and Sahid Qayoom u/s 120B, 121, 121A, 122,307 of IPC, Sec.16, 18, 20, 23 of UAPA & Section 3 of Explosive SubstancesAct.
