No civilian traffic on Nashree-Qazigund stretch of highway for 5 hours: Police

No civilian traffic movement will be allowed between Nashree and Qazigund stretch along Srinagar-Jammu national highway from 10 am to 3 pm on Tuesday, spokesperson of Traffic Police Department said in a statement.

He said cut off timing for yatra vehicles from Nashreetowards Qazigund and vice versa is 10 am.

   

He also said cut off timings for RFID fitted yatri vehiclesor non local tourist vehicles, which are not part of the ongoing yatra fromNashree towards Qazigund and vice versa is 11 am.

He added that time slot allotted to travel from Nashree toQazigund is 10 am to 2 pm and 11 am to 3 pm respectively.

No yatri vehicle or non local tourist vehicles will beallowed after cut off timings from Nashree and Qazigund, he said.

He added there will be no movement of any type of vehiclebetween Nashree and Qazigund stretch during restricted hours from 10 am to 3pm.

He also said security forces convoy will be allowed fromSrinagar towards Jammu.

Meanwhile, he said light motor vehicles (LMVs) will beallowed from both sides on historic Mughal road, while heavy motor vehicles(HMVs) will be allowed from Jammu towards Srinagar only.

He added LMVs will be allowed from 5 am to 12 pm fromBehramgalla and Hirpora, while HMVs will be allowed from 12 pm to 6 pm.

He added that vehicular movement will be allowed on bothsides of Srinagar-Leh highway.

He said LMVs will be allowed from 5 am to 9 am and HMVs from9 am to 1pm will be allowed from Minimarg towards Srinagar.

He added LMVs will be allowed from 1pm to 3pm and HMVs willbe allowed from 3pm to 6pm from Sonamarg towards Kargil.

Meanwhile, he advised yatris to get RFID fitted atdesignated locations including Lakhanpur in Kathua, airport, railway station,bus stand Jammu, Yatri Niwas Bhagwati Nagar, Ban Toll Plaza in Jammu andChaneni – Nashri Tunnel in Udhampur.
