‘No firing incident at Wathoora’

Jammu and Kashmir police Tuesday said that there was no aerial firing by the army and that a few tear gas shells were used on the protestors who had blocked the road in Wathoora area of Chadoora in central Kashmirs’ Budgam district.

A witness said that police resorted to firing of tear gas shells at the peaceful protestors at Wathoora. The police however, refuted the police claims.

“There was no army present in the area. People including some women created a law and order issue by blocking the road. Police resorted to firing of a few tear gas shells. There was no aerial firing in the area,” senior superintendent of police (SSP) Budgam, Tejender Singh told Greater Kashmir. GKNN
