Police on Monday refuted the reports of a militant attack in Qazigund, saying that the firing like sound had come from the silence of a van.
“Today, on 14th Sept 2020 around 1555 hrs, 3 firing-like sounds were heard near Dalwach Qazigund where police and crpf were deployed,” said a police spokesman.
After thorough investigation, he said, it was determined that the sounds came from the silencer of a Maruti Van which was crossing the naka and that no firing had taken place.
Public is requested not to propagate rumours of firing on naka party as no such incident has occurred, added the spokesman.
