No strike on July 13; Pro-freedom camp to lead joint rally

In a statement, Hurriyat (G) said that the pro-freedom leadership of Jammu and Kashmir will lead a joint march from Srinagar’s Jamia Masjid to the martyr’s graveyard at Khanqah-i-Naqshband Sahab.

The pro-freedom camp will lead a joint march to the martyrs’ graveyard in Srinagar on Monday, July 13, to pay homage to the martyrs of the 1931 massacre by Dogra rulers.

In a statement, Hurriyat (G) said that the pro-freedom leadership of Jammu and Kashmir will lead a joint march from Srinagar’s Jamia Masjid to the martyr’s graveyard at Khanqah-i-Naqshband Sahab.

On the occasion, it said, the leaders will address the public gathering about the “importance of the cause for which our nation has sacrificed about six lakh precious human lives so far”. 

The spokesman said that there will be no shutdown call on the day.

He appealed people to participate in the proposed march in large numbers and “give a message to the world that till the achievement of the right to self-determination, the Kashmiri nation will continue their fight against the illegal and forced occupation of India at any cost and in any way”.
